Heidi Cline McKerley

Heidi Cline McKerley has been working as a theatrical director, actress, teacher, and producer for the last 25 years. She has also worked with most professional theatres in Atlanta during that time, including the Alliance, Georgia Shakespeare, Shakespeare Tavern, Theatrical Outfit, Atlanta Lyric, Aurora Theatre, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Actor’s Express, Dad’s Garage, Theatre in the Square and Jewish Theatre of the South, as well as being a guest artist for the Gainesville Theatre Alliance, the LaGrange Lyric Theatre, Kennesaw State University, Berry College, and The University of Georgia. She has enjoyed a 20 year relationship with Horizon Theatre, where she is an artistic associate, and has directed 16 shows with five remounts, and numerous readings during that time. She has been nominated for seven Suzi Bass Awards, and won for Best Direction of a Musical in 2011 for Avenue Q. Heidi was the founding Producing Artistic Director of Soul-stice Repertory Ensemble, which, during its nine years, staged 27 theatrical classics at 7 Stages. She is also involved in performance storytelling, and has performed for the Southern Order of Storytellers Winter Storytelling Festival and has served as the artistic director of the St. Martin’s World Storytelling Celebration, which recently celebrated its eighth year of 100+ storytellers weaving folktales from around the world. She is a member of the Southern Order of Storytellers, the National Storytelling Network, the Alliance for Theatre in Education, and the Education Theatre Association of America.
