Dr. L. NYROBI N. MOSS (Costume Design) is an award-winning costume designer with more than 30 years of experience in theatre and entertainment. Founder of Goddess Complex Costumes & Styling, LLC, Nyrobi’s work has been seen nationally and internationally, including Atlanta, Washington DC, Orlando, New York, Virginia, Las Vegas, Dallas, Holland, West Africa, South Africa, and Dubai.
A longtime member of the Horizon Theatre creative family, Nyrobi’s many Horizon credits include Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Wild with Happy, The House That Will Not Stand, Support Group for Men, Square Blues, The Light, Sweet Water Taste, Nomad Motel, How Black Mothers Say I Love You, Citizen’s Market, The Ballad of Klook and Vinette, Project Dawn, Da Kink in My Hair, Uprising, Detroit, RIGHT ON!, Sheddin’, Every Tongue Confess, Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery, and Blackberry Daze, among others.
Nyrobi is a four-time Suzi Bass Award recipient, earning Outstanding Costume Design in a Play for Horizon’s Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery and Synchronicity Theatre’s Eclipsed, and Outstanding Costume Design in a Musical for Horizon’s Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 and Aurora Theatre’s The Color Purple. Additional nominations include Designing Women 2020, The Wash, Bright Star, Five Guys Named Moe, The Color Purple, Blackberry Daze, Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters, and Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds.
Her film credits include serving as Key BG Costumer for Netflix’s The Piano Lesson and Orion Pictures/MGM Studios’ TILL.
Beyond design, Dr. Nyrobi serves as Chair of the Board of Directors at 7 Stages Theatre and as a business consultant supporting nonprofits, entrepreneurs, artists, startups, and small businesses.
