Dr. Paula Brathwaite, Medical Director of Emergency Services at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and of the Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center
Dr. Brathwaite has led the Piedmont Fayette Hospital emergency department through a period of rapid growth, treating more than 68,000 patients in 2015 compared to 39,000 in 2009. She is a recognized leader among her peers at the hospital. In addition, she gives back to her community by serving as the medical director of the Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center. She also serves as a volunteer with the Barbados Faces Social Development Mentorship Program for girls. Dr. Brathwaite received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, and an emergency medicine residency at Boston Medical Center.
