MICHELLE CHAN (she/her) is a director, theatremaker, and producer from Hong Kong. She is a first-gen Taiwanese-American whose work attempts to redefine the roles fabricating the American culture, usually through intersections of gender, class and/or race. This has led to much new work development with writers C. Julian Jimenéz, Qui Ngyuen, Lloyd Suh, Alyssa Haddad-Chin, Esmé Maria Ng, Dena Igusti, and more. She is currently a resident artist at Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective, a frequent director for SERIALS, and teaching assistant to Suzan-Lori Parks. She is an alum of the Drama League Directors Project, the Moxie Arts Incubator, and the 3P x Elif Collective’s Oven Development Series. She is an alum of the Drama League Directors Project and Moxie Arts Incubator. Her directing work has been seen at Ringling Museum/Asolo Rep, WP Theater, Dramatist Guild Foundation, Atlantic Stage 2, Connelly Theater, The Flea, Theatre Row, Keen Company, Hudson Guild, Dixon Place, The Tank, The Maker’s Space, Lime Arts, and The American Opera Project.
