LAURA EASON is a playwright of more than fifteen plays as well as a staff writer and story editor for the Emmy Award winning House of Cards. Sex with Strangers is one of the ten most produced plays in America this season.  It was commissioned by and premiered at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, had a successful Off-Broadway run that featured Anna Gunn of Breaking Bad and was directed by David Schwimmer of Friends, and has hit international success with productions as far away as Australia. Not content to write only for adults, Laura recently adapted Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates for Arden’s Children’s Theatre, which opened in November 2015, along with her previous adaptations of Huckleberry Finn and Around the World in 80 Days, both for younger audiences. In addition to her extensive experience as a writer for theatre and television, she has worked as an actor, composer, director and Artistic Director of Chicago’s acclaimed Lookingglass Theatre, which won the 2011 Regional Theatre Tony Award while under her leadership.
