JULIO ZACONET VALENTIN (LAUGHS IN SPANISH, Juan understudy) Lawyer by day, actor by night, Julio Valentin is a native of Lima Peru who was raised in North Carolina, and makes his Horizon debut after a near 15-year theater hiatus! In his youth, he performed in musicals such as Bye Bye Birdie, The Wiz, and even a few originals, followed by chamber choirs and a cappella groups at his alma mater UNC Chapel Hill. He went on to become a Salsa instructor with the Cobo Brothers Dance Company in Raleigh, NC. where he partnered with 2023 World Salsa Summit World Champion, Peiwei Li. Julio is thrilled to return to theater, work and learn from such a talented team and cast in what he describes as “a celebration of latino culture, and the power of community.” In his free time, Julio captains local soccer teams, and spends time with his rescue pups, Ava and Odin.
