Jen Harper is thrilled and thankful to be back on the Horizon Theatre Stage, working with this cast and this director! She began her career in the performing arts at age 4 as a classically-trained dancer and continued through her study at Spelman College, Morehouse School of Medicine, The Royal National Theatre and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. While at RADA, Jen was tutored by Ian McKellen, Alan Rickman, Judi Dench, and Fiona Shaw as she prepared for what she still feels was the leading role of a lifetime: Titania/Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Van Brugh Theatre in London and remounted here in the states for The Southern Shakespeare Festival in Florida. Stage credits: multiple roles for Jomandi, Horizon, Seven Stages, Alliance Theater, Theater in the Square, The Springer Opera House and Theatrical Outfit over the past 30 years. TV/Film credits: Recurring Co-Star: In the Heat of the Night (Dr. Day), I’ll Fly Away and Savannah; The Vampire Diaries, Drop Dead Diva, Linda in Born Again Virgins, Here We Go Again, Kill The Messanger, Nappily Ever Ever After. Most Recently she stars as Deacon Connie Sykes in Greenleaf (four Seasons) and Stars as Vianne in Madea’s Family Funeral. Jen is dedicated to her craft as an Actor; her monthly actor’s workshop, “The Practice” (2012ThePractice.com); her life as a Physician; her quest for Fitness; and is devoted to her Faith and her own “Sweet Water Taste”, Lop.
