Jay Jones

Jay Jones (Xavier) is extremely excited to be making his return to the Atlanta stage with Horizon Theater and this amazing show after a 20 hiatus. Jones is a seasoned stage and film actor who recently relocated back to Atlanta from Los Angelas. Since beginning his professional career with Jomandi Theater under the direction of Tom Jones here in Atlanta with the production of  Ceremonies in Dark Old Men, Jay has graced the stages in over 30 shows across the country. He has worked extensively with playwright and producer Mark Clayton Southers in Pittsburgh Pa. in August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom as well as as Southerns’ play When the Water Turns Clear. Jay has also worked with renown Director and Penumbra Theater founder Lou Bellamy in Stage Directions as well as director OJ Parsons in Buffalos Arena Theater presentation of A Raisin In the Sun. He has worked off-Broadway in productions of Layon Gray’s Black Angels Over Tuskegee as well as Dr. John Shevin Foster’s Plenty of Time. Jones can also be seen in TVone’s upcoming drama “Deadly Dispatch” and New Line Cinemas sequel How High 2 coming to theaters in the Spring. Jones would like to dedicate his performance to his Suns William and Joseph J. Jones II.
