New Five-Minute Plays by The 2022 Winners

Students, high school through college, are invited to submit completed one act plays for consideration in Horizon Theatre Company’s New South Young Playwrights Festival Contest. 20+ playwrights are selected to participate in the New South Young Playwrights Festival at Horizon Theatre in the trendy Little Five Points area of Atlanta. This week-long festival is free for participants and includes playwriting workshops, seminars, and rehearsals with professional theatre actors, directors, and playwrights.
Every year, our New South Young Playwrights Festival (NSYPF) culminates in a show-stopping short play festival! 2020 was our first time doing it completely online! These winning plays were written by college-age playwrights all across the country and performed by professional actors.
The 24rd Annual NSYP Short Play Festival was a public reading and was once again a virtual showcase of the writers’ short plays that were created over their intensive week. There were 22 writers and plays.
