Horizon’s hit musical comedy is back – but OUTSIDE IN PIEDMONT PARK!buytixbutton-piedmontpark

Last year Horizon Theatre Company’s mega-hit musical Avenue Q was a huge, fun party when we played to sell-out crowds under the trees and stars in Piedmont Park. Now we’re back – this time with our smash musical comedy The Toxic Avenger

ArtsATL called it “the most fun to be had in local theatre,” while the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said it was “infectious fun to watch…Just enjoy!” Audiences couldn’t get enough of the big green guy either, raving “it was the best musical I’ve ever seen” and that they “laughed non-stop.” DON’T MISS OUT ON THE SUMMER’S BIGGEST SHOW!

The Toxic Avenger, winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, is a hot toxic love story and laugh-out-loud musical that has it all—an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor and two guys who play…well, everyone else…bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers. Melvin Ferd the Third wants to clean up Tromaville, the most polluted town in New Jersey. Foiled by the mayor’s bullies, Melvin is dumped into a vat of radioactive toxic waste, only to reemerge as The Toxic Avenger, New Jersey’s first superhero. Affectionately known as Toxie, our new hero is a seven-foot mutant freak with superhuman strength and a heart as big as Newark. He’s out to save New Jersey, end global warming, and woo the blind librarian in town.

So come and laugh and party with Toxie in Piedmont Park this summer (in The Promenade area near the Atlanta Botantical Gardens and Sage Parking Garage).

Bring your own picnic or purchase from onsite food trucks and concessions/bar. Audiences can bring their own food, water, and soft drinks – but no alcohol or glass. Wine, beer, water and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Grounds open for picnicking at 6pm. Show starts at 7:30pm.

FREE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS ** $15* RESERVED SEATING SECTION – Up front near the stage! ** $35* TABLE SEATING – Up front near the stage!
