Young Playwrights Festival | Intern Company
The Intern Company is designed for early career theatre professionals interested in specific areas. Interns work in one department under the direction of Horizon Theatre’s professional staff. Internships offer in-depth practical training and provide the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience at a professional level while obtaining connections with respected artists, administrators, and technicians. By participating in the Intern Company at Horizon Theatre, one can begin forging professional alliances helpful to one’s theatre career. Academic credit may be available from your school. Internships are available in the following areas General Theatre Management, Artistic, Development/Fundraising, Graphic/Website Design, Marketing/Public Relations, Stage Management, and Technical/Production. All part-time and full-time internships are non-paid positions and schedules are negotiable. Housing is not provided. The Apprentice Company is designed for early career theatre artists interested in specific areas of playwriting, acting, stage management, and design. The Apprentice Company is a nine month commitment from September - May. By participating in the Apprentice Company at Horizon Theatre, one can begin forging professional alliances helpful to one’s theatre career. Apprentice Company applicants must have a degree from an accredited university or college, or must have equivalent training and or experience. Horizon Theatre/Atlanta Children's Theatre Camp StarDust
Camp StarDust is for budding stars who love to sing, dance and, above all, perform! The fun music, drama, choreography and props classes culminate in a performance for family and friends on Friday. Past camp performances have included selections from such popular musicals as Annie, Sound of Music and The Lion King! In addition to building strong musical theater skills with our professional instructors, students’ coordination, stage presence and rehearsal techniques will be enhanced as well. Even the shyest performers can really bloom in this environment! For rising 1st through 6th grade students. After care available.
